Autoimmunity, Gut Bacteria and Diet [Part 2]

In Part 2 of Arthritis Now’s interview with Dr. Martin Kriegel, he delves deeper into how diet can play a part in autoimmune diseases and, though there is still much to be discovered, speaks on remedies that have worked for various patients.

He also explains what a microbiome is – the bacteria living on us and inside of us (gut bacteria, specific to his research) – and how each person’s biological microbiome composition differs slightly, just like a fingerprint, for example. He further talks on andogenous retroviruses and how these viruses could be the key factors that bring about autoimmune diseases.
