Collaborating On Gout Research | Mara McAdams-Demarco, Ph.D. [Part 2]

In Part 2 of her interview on Arthritis Now, Gout researcher, Dr. Mara McAdams-Demarco of Johns Hopkins, continued to explain her research that was jointly funded by the Arthritis National Research Foundation and the American Federation For Aging Research.

In the video above, Dr. McAdams-DeMarco talks about the older population of gout sufferers she focuses on, and why she thinks it is necessary to target that specific demographic, instead of lumping them together with younger individuals suffering with gout. She also delves into certain socioeconomic risk factors that are associated with the disease. ANRF and AFAR are looking forward to Dr. McAdams-DeMarco continuing her work on gout in an effort to help the estimated 8.3 million Americans and millions more worldwide suffering the effects the disease.

Collaborating on gout research and all research is one of ANRF’s passions, however, it cannot be done without your support. If you’d like to see more research on gout and/or other forms of arthritis please make a donation today!
