Can Herpes Teach Us About Arthritis? marks the re-launch of Arthritis Now. New Arthritis Now host, Britt Johnson, talks with Carl F. Ware, Ph.D. about his research on herpes and it’s potential to lead researchers to new arthritis treatments. Watch the interview above!

Dr. Ware is the Director of the Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases Center at Sanford-Burnham-Prebys Medical Discovery Institute. He is studying the genetics and behavior of the herpes virus working towards new discoveries that will potentially benefit various forms of arthritis, autoimmune diseases, and even cancer.

Dr. Ware is also the Chairman of Arthritis National Research Foundation’s Scientific Advisory Board, where he helps guide the future of arthritis research. In this episode of Arthritis Now he also explains how the Board selects new and innovative research to fund through grants each year.
