LPGA Nominates Mallory Blackwelder for KIA Assist

Cure Arthritis Ambassador and pro-golfer, Mallory Blackwelder, has been nominated for a 2015 KIA Community Assist Award at the Portland Classic. The KIA Assist award recognizes one LPGA player who made an exceptional contribution to a charity organization or community program over the course of the past year.

Just last week Blackwelder and fellow arthritis advocate, LPGA golfer, and ANRF Board Member, Kristy McPherson, hosted a juvenile arthritis meet and greet in Portland to raise awareness about the disease and inspire the children that suffer from it. During the event, Blackwelder opened up about her own struggles with rheumatoid arthritis.

For every birdie and eagle she makes during her tournaments, Blackwelder donates funds to the Arthritis National Research Foundation. ANRF is the only charity solely dedicated to funding arthritis research to find cures and treatments for the various forms of arthritis. The winner of the 2015 Kia Assist Award will be given a 2016 Kia Sorrento and will be announced at the season ending CME group tour championship.

We’d like to thank Mallory and Kristy for their support and wish Mallory the best of luck in winning the KIA Assist!
