Dr. McDevitt is known world-wide for his contributions to the field of arthritis research. He is currently a professor of Medicine, and Microbiology & Immunology at the Stanford University School of Medicine. A 1955 graduate of Harvard University Medical School, Dr. McDevitt has received honors and awards for his research-related work from academic and professional organizations ranging from the National Institutes of Health to the National Cancer Institute to the American College of Rheumatology, and more.

 

He currently serves on the Advisory Committee to the Director of the National Institutes of Health, as well as on the editorial boards of the publications, Molecular Medicine and The Journal of Clinical Immunology, Immunopathology, Immunogenetics. At Stanford University, Dr. McDevitt has been the head of the Immunology Department, the director of the Clinical Immunology Lab, and Chairman of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.
