2003-2004
The following is a description of a study from one of the many researchers that our organization has funded.
Role of NF-kB2/p100 processing in BAFF expression
Emmanuel Dejardin, Ph.D.
La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology
San Diego, California
Dr. Dejardin’s identified molecular pathways that lead to the activation of two subsets of genes. One pathway is implicated in the expression of pro-inflammatory genes. The second pathway controls another subset of genes, which are important for lymphoid tissue development. He studied these pathways that could reveal promising therapeutic targets for controlling autoimmune diseases such as RA and lupus.
